In the Women’s Tri-Fitness, we eat and train as athletes. Some of the training is done in the outdoors and we all realize the sun will cause damage to our skin if we don’t use the proper protection. Fortunately there are products available to help protect the skin and licensed aestheticians available to treat it.

Recently I visited with Dawn Gardner from Rejuva Med Spa in Tampa, Florida. She explained that rejuvenation begins with a Visia Complexion Analysis which provides a detailed computer evaluation of your skin, including pores, skin texture, wrinkles, age spots and UV sun damaged areas. The evaluation gives the aesthetician a baseline report to work with and to create a personalized skin rejuvenation plan. “I use a variety of techniques and an innovative Photo-Hydra Facial system which exfoliates the skin and removes excess oil from blocked pores in all-in-one deep cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing process. Once the process is completed, an anti-aging infrared light therapy is used to stimulate the collagen in the skin by removing pigmented spots,” stated Dawn.

After experiencing the treatment, I can attest it is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective. The setting which included the heated bed and exotic room decor led to an amazingly relaxing hour. It is easily understandable why spas say a “facial” is the second most popular service next to massage. Most people report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after the one treatment.

If you are feeling stressed due to life’s burdens and want to treat yourself to something invigorating and healthy, seek out a recommended spa such as Rejuva (Tampa, Florida) and rejuvenate yourself because you deserve it.
